Within the Valleys of the Susquehanna you will find a variety of enjoyable Central PA attractions. Our region is comprised of 5 counties – Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union – each with unique attractions to enhance your Central PA experience.

The region is served by two Visitors Bureaus prepared to help travelers learn more about Central PA attractions. Both Visitors Bureaus can provide information about Central PA attractions, accommodations, dining, events, museums, and a variety of things to do and see while in the area.
 


COLUMBIA MONTOUR VISITORS BUREAU
Located just off Interstate 80 in North Central Pennsylvania, Columbia and Montour Counties offer breathtaking scenery, hometown hospitality, and year-round Central PA attractions. We boast a multitude of Central PA attractions and over six state parks/outdoor recreation facilities, including PPL Montour Preserve, PPL Susquehanna Riverlands, Ricketts Glen State Park, and Weiser State Forest.

Nature provides a backdrop for many Central PA attractions. See black bear, bald eagles, waterfalls up to 94 feet, and those mysterious corn mazes that pop up each fall. Enjoy a plethora of Central PA agritourism attractions – from pick-your-own and farmers markets, to a Red Deer Farm, wineries, and Christmas tree farms.

The Susquehanna River, one of America’s Heritage Rivers, is at the heart of many Central PA attractions. Launch your kayak or canoe and paddle past fertile farmlands, small towns, and mountain forests. Take a relaxing bike ride on one of Central PA’s twenty different routes to see the full beauty of our area. Be sure and walk, run or bike Robbins Trail, the oldest Rails-To-Trails in the United States and a Central PA attraction not to be missed!

Looking for a slower pace? Discover the area’s rich history while experiencing, first-hand, Central PA monuments from a bygone era. Explore one of our most beloved Central PA attractions – twenty-four nineteenth century covered bridges, and one twentieth century covered bridge. These Central PA attractions provide a timbered testament to the craftsmanship of our forefathers.

Central PA offers attractions for children of all ages. Take a thrill-ride on two world class rollercoasters at Knoebels Amusement Resort; travel deep into a coal mine; or gaze wide-eyed at the wild animals of the rain forest at Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland. Our Central PA attractions will keep you coming back for more!

Columbia and Montour Counties include the communities of Bloomsburg, Berwick, Danville, and their surrounding communities. All Central PA attractions, lodging, and restaurants are conveniently accessible to Interstate 80 and Pennsylvania Routes 11, 487, 54, and 42.

SUSQUEHANNA RIVER VALLEY VISITORS BUREAU
The Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau represents Northumberland, Snyder, and Union Counties including the towns of Sunbury, Selinsgrove, Lewisburg, Northumberland, Mifflinburg, Milton, and their surrounding communities. All Central PA attractions in this region are easily accessible from Interstates 80 and 180 and Pennsylvania Routes 11, 15, 45, 147.

The Central PA attractions found in the Susquehanna River Valley will remind you that life’s greatest joy is in the journey. Here, the Susquehanna River sets the relaxing pace and meandering seems to come easy. Winding rivers, roads, and pathways connect you to one delight after another, inviting you to stop often, explore, discover, and celebrate the attractions of Central PA.

Beautiful natural scenery and outdoor recreation surround each of the quaint, historic downtowns creating  perfect settings for various Central PA attractions. Browse shops filled with timeless antiques and roadside stands filled with the freshest produce.
